This is so illuminating. These are distinctions that get overlooked most of the time. In my own life I have experienced the anxiety that came with the mismatch between temperament and expectation.
I have also seen how some people are a bad fit for certain vocations, but they persist in the hope that the fit will align with enough time and application. The belief that you can do 'anything' so long as you put in the work is so pervasive. It leads to poor (work) outcomes and fragile personalities. The DEI movement is a plague upon our society. By opening the gates for all unconditionally we risk sacrificing true creativity and quality at its liberal altar.
